Beyond the Bell

Building on Direction provides snacks and supper in organized afterschool programs. The food program not only benefits children by providing needed nutrition, but has also been shown to help reduce or prevent children's involvement in juvenile crime or other high-risk behaviors.

Summer Food Partnership Program

During the summer months, many children lose access to the free and reduced-price meals they receive during the school year. Building on Direction helps fill that gap by partnering with schools, summer camps, churches, and community organizations to provide nutritious meals for youth.

If your organization hosts a summer program and would like to offer meals to the children you serve, we invite you to partner with us to become a summer meal site. Together, we can help ensure children in our community stay nourished all summer long.

B.O.N.D Summer Camp

B.O.N.D. Summer Camp, hosted by Building on Direction, is a fun and engaging summer program for youth ages 6–13 in the St. Louis community. Campers participate in exciting themed weeks that focus on confidence building, health and wellness, STEM exploration, career discovery, entrepreneurship, and community service.

Children will enjoy hands-on activities, outdoor play, water days, creative projects, and field trips in a safe and supportive environment. Breakfast and lunch are provided daily.

Our goal is to create a summer experience where kids can learn, grow, build friendships, and make lasting memories.
